Default Air box

i have a 1987 1000 hurricane i am in the middle of fixing it , i am about to change all the gas lines , and i think a T pipe might be cracked so i am going to replace them also

my question : any special trick to getting the air box out ?
every thing is off it , i can move it around , but i guess im not doing something right

You have to lift the front (closest to the carbs) and slightly twisted while lifting it. It's a tight fit but once you figure out how it slides in/out, it will be a breeze next time.

Sorry I missed one important part. You need to remove the carburator to get the airbox out. I just pulled mine again tonight (had a cracked intake boot on #4). .
