'91 1000f - Test results from alternator 6pin

I've been having charging issues and it was first disguised by a melted r/r. Replaced that and everything was fine for a few weeks. Same problems, only the r/r tests good now. I checked the alternator 6p connector again st what the service manual says and here are my results:
  • All 3 yellow wires have continuity. (Book says to make sure they DON'T)
  • All 3 yellow wires read 0.4+ Ohm's (Book says 0-.1)
Now, before I go on the wild goose chase that is trying to find an alternator, is there anything I can do to rebuild/fix this sucker? I have a lathe, a mill and am pretty handy. Thanks for any info.

If it were me, I'd make a couple calls before taking it on. There's a couple shops in our town that specialize in rewinding alternators and starters, so would think repair is possible, but might be something left to a pro unless you're keen to learn how and not worried about messing it up

When you remove it make sure to leave the alternator shaft in place (ie don't just zap the three base bolts off) or else you'll be left with several bad options when it comes to reassembly
