Default 1991 cbr1000f questions

Hey guys. So I bought a 1991 cbr1000f as a project bike. I just bought a front cowl for it because I didn't have one. And it doesn't seem to fit. I have one from an 88 that mounts perfectly, but things just don't line up with it. The mounting seems a little small and it doesn't fit. It's small by about a 1/4".

My next question is, is there a difference in rim sizing between the 1993 model and the 1988 model? The front rim was bent and was originally from a 1993. I bought a rim from a 1988 and I'm not sure if its the same size.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The body work from an 88 is different than that on a 91, and the body work changed again in 93. If the 93 rim fit your bike, then I don't think the 88 rim will fit- it's narrower, I believe.

The 88 rim had the speedo unit in it - the later models were driven off the front sprocket.
Whether this would mean it wouldn't fit I can't be sure...........
