triangle

i start off in third it gives you a longer distance at red line before rear tire catches traction or greater tire spin
compared too mph and red line depends how you look at it.
second gear works great for stock gears
i never shift BIG NONO
2nd+3rd gear launches more tricky keep straight and lots of practice and tire is always toast
have you seen MAD MAX great burnout launch in that vid

chuck

i meant launching from dead stop i can control tire spin easier than front end tire lift-off
in 2 to 5 gears you have speed helping you
you are right about it being worse in general for lift-off , my problem was from 0 mph way harder to get corrected
clutch slip / tire spin / tire temp / hp / gears all relative works better for me
thanks i forgot about power wheelies much better with gear change

weekendrider

my best E.T. is 10.741 / 120.584 MPH i am faster than that

Bringing it back from the dead...this is newbish, so help me out here. I tried multiple times the other night to smoke up my tire, but all I did was jerk the crap out of the bike and smashed me nutz on the tank (ouch!). I was working the brake, gas and bringing on the clutch...should I have dropped the clutch? I was in first too...

Any suggestions, or should I hook up a window washer pump and spray some water down?

Code:
Actually no it doesn't. The front brake caliper needs to pivot a little to open the valve to give the rears some pressure. So if the front wheel isn't spinning, there is no rear brakepressure when the front is applied.
So your saying that you have to stop the bike first then apply the front brake, not stop with the front brake and hold
