One it could be your battery....two it could be your dang cdi spark unit, that stupid thing went out on my bike and i kept thinking battery to. The unit can start to go out and do what you was talking about, that is what mine did be for it completely went out. Also make sure when your bike is running check to see your battery is charging properly. Hope you get it figured out man.

Thanks once again for your input guys. I haven't got a battery tester or anything like that so I have a plan. Gonna bump start it and then call the roadside recovery out to have a look at it. Then they can test the battery etc for me!

Cheers

Smile Must be in the UK !

Using the phrase "playing silly buggers" definately puts you in the UK _ do tell us whereabouts and maybe you are close enough to get together for a brew and a chat.

Also - type this into ebay ( 12v LED Battery Monitor, voltage and charge indicator ) buy and fit it - they are brilliant battery/charge system monitors for a tenner.

Do get in touch !!

I am in Leicestershire. I tried using jump leads earlier to see if it was the battery or the starter motor. And it started up straight away. So I took the battery off and there was hardly any water in the battery left! So I bought some from the local garage and put it in the battery. It's currently on charge and hopefully will be fully charged by the morning.

Thanks for your help all and I will be in touch to let you know the result tomorrow.

Cheers

What kind of battery do you have? Most motorcycle batteries are supposed to be dry inside, making for a better shelf life and resistance to spilling while leaning over. The plates inside absorb the acid and do their thing dry.

Not the average wet batteries I have had - plenty of liquid in them by way of
acid and deionised h20 which easily leaks out the vent if bike lays over for any
reason

Mind you, - now all mine are the type you mention AGM absorbed glass matt

MotoBatt are the battery of choice for me these days

Yay!!!!! It starts like a gem! Got a new battery from a parts and spares shop and sorted the acid etc etc and installed it on the bike and it fires up straight away!

So chuffed. Can't wait to get on it tomorrow!

Thanks to everyone for the support and advice! Really helpful!

Cheers

Just goes to show that 9 out of 9 CBR Forum members can't be wrong.

Glad you're back on the road

Hi,
these bikes need a good battery to start especially now the cold is coming.
Update your profile so we know where you are. if I had known you were in leicesetershire I may have popped over as I am in Northamptonshire.

Good riding and enjoy

Rick
