Default After serious consideration...

I've decided to put my beloved F4i up for sale. Been a great bike for the last 4+ years but am tired of dealing with fairings and would like to find a more upright seating position...

2006 Honda CBR F4i - well ridden (32,xxx miles) and meticulously taken care of - I have full documentation of all mods, accessories, and maintenance! I give full disclosure of the good and the bad. I want the buyer to be happy and know exactly what they are getting!

I am the second owner, purchased 4 years ago with 8,xxx miles on the odo. As you can tell by the current mileage, I've ridden this a lot! Happy to answer any and all questions! Don't need any help selling and price is fairly firm @ $4500, although I'm open to negotiation.

The biggest "bad"? Just had a low side at 20 mph, so right side fairings and exhaust tip are scratched up and the right turn signal needs some help. I have an aftermarket nose fairing that I'll install while repairing the OE one. Frame slider helped mitigate the damage and has been replaced with new. Mechanically, the bike is in Excellent condition.

Sorry to hear, but change happens. Does it have a full aftermarket exhaust or just slip-on? Are you planning on fully repairing the fairings or selling as is?

Yeah, I'd love to find a nice CB1000R but they are pricey! Just the slip-on. The nose was a jigsaw puzzle around the blinker when I bought it. I bought a decent Chinese replacement but never used it because it has white decals instead of the grey. Going to pull the OE and try and fix it again but, if I can't, I'll put the aftermarket one on...

That doesn’t mean you get to leave. If you remember, under section five, paragraph three, you will see you are obligated to remain on the forum for a minimum of four years after the sale of a bike. So settle in.

congrats on selling the ride.

Very much had mixed feelings but I think 4 years and 25k miles is a pretty good run! Not close to how long/many miles some you have under your belt, but not too shabby, either!

I'm happy to stick around! I figure I've got just enough expertise to be a little helpful and, who knows, maybe another F4 is in the future! 👍

Yes! Had a lot of adventures (and mishaps) on that bike and it was a faithful steed! No electrical problems (battery was close to 6 years old and still kicking!), took me faster than my turbo XT ever got close to, and just looked so, so good!

Test rode a '14 Street Triple the other day and really liked it. Seating position was wonderful, super nimble, brakes were powerful, and that triple under stress? Oh, yeah!

Thanks! I like it here! I've learned a ton and tried to help a little, too!

And, as I mentioned, I'd not be adverse to picking up another one, maybe to use as a dedicated track bike one day...

Nice, the Street Triple whilst having similar power to the CBR I imaging would feel much more 'torquey' lower down the rev range (never having ridden one) and of course an evolution of that engine is what I believe they now use in the Moto 2 bikes and of course no fairing....

Did not feel as different as I thought it would. Found out that they lengthened 1st gear to reduce that low end torque which seems odd since that's kinda what it's known for. I'd likely get two front sprockets (-/+ 1) for commuting and track and would definitely be adding a windscreen, although I've gotten used to the "full wind" experience on the CRF. lol
