Many alternative parts are identical for this bike, but a lot cheaper.

Shadow pointed this out for the temperature sender unit, and in fact started the 'alternative parts Sticky'.

Give it a try, if the specs are the same it should work fine, and you can add your own contribution to the above mentioned thread

If the Rad cap is the same fit and the same spec all seems good

If the spec's are the same, chances are it's the same part...just not the Honda price

Let us know how it goes and then you can be Immortalised in our 'Alternative Parts' sticky all we need is a part number or alternate model

the rad cap is safe to use now , it didn't blow up my bike and running a bike without thermostat is safe too , the needle temp. gauges won't go up to red line..

Default Alternative automotive radiator cap

Thanks for the part number

Needed one for a 2000 Shadow VT750 and it fits

Only cost $8.50 at local auto parts store vs $30+ online prices

Noticed my 2005 Subaru Outback had the same cap so I went to the auto store and picked one up for $7.49 USD.

Its packaged by ToughOne part #10233, same as Stant #10233 that fits many radiators.

I replaced mine with an after market one from a local auto parts store. Honda caps have a 10 to 15 psi valve in them for this particular bike. I checked the after market one with my mity vac kit and the valve activated at around the 15 psi mark so I knew it was good to go. Cap cost me around 10 dollars from memory. A Honda one here is around $30 I think.
