Default Petcock/fuel strainer

Does anyone have a lead on a replacement petcock assembly or fuel strainer - mine is leaking from places a seal change won't solve.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Pot metal on these parts suck! Corrosion eats away at it and you no longer have smooth surfaces to seal!

What I've done is use metal-particle embedded epoxies (Liquid Steel) to build up missing metal. Then carefully grind, file, polish back to original surface.

The metal parts are surprisingly good - no corrosion at all. It's just an ethonol-eaten o-ring behind a riveted panel.

I was hoping to find the petcock was used on other bikes of that era, but it seems to be a CBR1000F specific part. None available, and I can't even find a used one to "experiment on".

Time to drill it out and take it to ace hardware to see if I can find an o-ring which will work I guess.

Yeah; saw somewhere someone had drilled out rivets and replaced rubbers. Then used screws to put back together.
