Turboing a 600rr
Ive been playing with boosted cars since i was 17 so i have a knowledge on the whole aspect of it. I just have a few questions involving doing it to a bike.
#1: What size turbo and injectors are used? Looking for 7-10psi. #2: Can an intercooler used? I have seen some without but never with? Like used a DSM sidemount? #3: Can i get a link to turbo manifolds used? #4: I know these bikes run on ITB's so this is where i run into my biggest question. Do they make air boxes that fit ontop of the ITB's to make some sort of intake manifold with one port like on a car? Are these custom or manufactured? #5: Tuning.... what has been used? I know cars i used DSMlink and AEM EMS but not sure what would be used for bikes. Any info would be great, not saying i am 100% doing, buts it is just an idea ive been toying with. Plus knowledge is power. Thanks, Kane. |

I dont know anything about them, but i enjoy seeing them on bikes. It seems like you would only put a turbo on a bike your going to drive fast in a straight line.

RE: Turboing a 600rr
turbos would most certainly be good for the twisties too, little bit more pet coming out of the corners. price is not a matter for me since ive been playing with cars forever i basically have the whole kit minus the injectors, turbo mani, and intake box.
i just really miss boost, the feel of it, sounds, and whole dynamics of force induction..... and i would rather boost my bike than my 383 strocker Nova lol |
i'm look'n to do the same build...i've got a factory dsm turbo off of a 4g63. I'm hoping my power commander will be able to control fuel etc., i'm on the hunt for manifolds myself...i think i can get a local machine shop to make the exhaust but i'm clueless on the intake.
