Default Rear vision camera

Ever heard of fitting a camera to the rear of a bike and a view screen over the dash. Could this allow you to remove both side mirrors?

TRI !!!!!!!!!! Isn't "come'n and go'n", at the same time, illegal down there ????!!!!!!!
I think that turbine bike, might have been slated for that option. Here in the states.. RV's use it, but I think it's best for not back'n over the grand kids. I think it might be scary to take your eyes off forward, long enogh to scrutinize backrdz!!!!!!! Depth perception, might also get a little wierd !!!!!!!!! I do like the idea of not have'n to look so far to the sides ( mirrors)
I can tell your a thinker... always come'n up w/ interesting ideas. I always enjoy your topics and posts, M8 !!!!!!!!!
Clean and free, Ripp'n

They're selling 'backup' kits in Canadian Tire now... I thought it might be a cheap camera for turing into a rear view mirror... or even a forward facing fairing cam for recording favorite roads.

my friend has one on his 05 R1. Its sweet, we removed the mirrors, added a camera between the two exhaust pipes, and added a 3.5 screen. We had to do this two different times because the first camera was kinda cheap and wasn't clear at night. The new one is clear as day, its awesome.

Try this:

http://canadiantire.ca/browse/produc...=1163204135415

I think it could be setup pretty easily. The camera is apparently already weather proof. The mount might need some modification but could be integrated into a fender elimination I think.

The screen might be tricky on some bikes... on mine I have room above the triples. It wires to the battery - so a on/off would be easy.

http://www.archos.com/home.html?country=global&lang=en

the 604 wifi is touch-screen, but if you are ok with using the side buttons - then go for 404..

it seems like you can mold the stand (comes with it i believe) into your tree or by gauges.. i believe the stand has plugs (which will take some work to get your battery to send a charge and then also a route to the rear-view camera for easy hook-up).. then all you do is plug and go.. you dont want to leave a $400 PVP on your bike when your gone for abit.. If I ever get the money to do this mod, I will make sure I do a write up and pics for everyone because i think we all want to have technology in our bike and be able to get rid of those damn mirrors..

if you guys are interested in archos products, maybe i can send them an e-mail and maybe see if we can get a group buy... never know
