RE: cbr600F subframes
Im not familar with the 89 cbr F series...but I am swapping my F2 subframe with an F4...if its anything like mine the stock subframe is welded on and is steel...where as the f4 is aluminum and bolt on...so you have to cut off the old one and weld mounting points as well as get the taillight fairing seats and subframe and my have to build some small brackets......I would say depending on the prices you get on the new stuff and if you can weld decent or has a buddy that can itll prolly run you around 250 and a few weekends to get it done....the hard part is just getting good deals on all the stuff and having the ***** to chop up your frame lol. But I got my subframe for 10 bucks on ebay...and got a broken 1000rr tail section for 5 bucks that I fiberglassed and repaired. Then I need the taillight and the seats which will run the most...plus maybe 20 bucks in steel.
