Default painting a colored windscreen question

Hello, I i've seen previous posts about people painting their windscreen using plastic spray paints. I'm on a slim budget so although i'm sure i could find a cheap one on ebay for 40-50 bucks, i'd rather put that towards upgrading/improving something else on my bike. Below is a picture of the windscreen on my bike (notice how yellow and blue really don't go together)

i was thinking about painting it blue, but then i figured it would show through as green. So if i paint it black, will it appear black over all, or will that annoying yellow still be obvious.
i've read a lot about how its a big NO-NO to paint the front of the windscreen, but in this case would it be neccessary?

No pics = fail. ;-) you're link sends you to a sign-in page.

As for your questions... You *can* paint the front of the screen IF you clear-coat it afterward & let it cure. That's what the guys do around my area anyway.

Seems like a lot of work to do all that prep & painting for a maybe so-so result, instead of buying something like a lockhart-phillips windscreen for $25.

Good luck whatever you choose to do.

It does look good - did you paint the inside? I think the screen on my '99f4 is the original, but it's been sprayed black on the inside. It looks pretty good too.
