leif, did you do the rims? Is the yellow stripe a decal or paint? I'm wanting to do something similar with mine. Thanks.

hey rrasco, with the singlesided swing arm there was plenty of room for the exhaust. with the stock one, you would have to go out and around the swing arm. that might look a little ghetto. but if done right and you like it, who cares. thanks for the input.

here it is in a nutshell. mods to the frame: bottom motor mount must be cut off and rewelded to the other side, and the inner frame walls peened or notched( to make room for the carbs, does not take much). after that i made two new side motormount plates, not that hard. i use the stock wiring harness with the 900 blackbox. next u have to mod the airbox to fit the 900 carbs(again, not that hard, just drilling a couple of new holse to line the mounting screws up). you will also need to extend the radiator top hose(very easy, a trip to autozone). that is about it, a little welding, beating, and a shoe horn and u got it. it is a blast when u pass an r1 on a little, outdated f2. my frame is at the powdercoater's this week. i will post some detailed pics in about a week

I have an F1 so i guess the only way to know for sure is to try it. I may attempt that this winter, thanks for the info though, can't wait for the pics.

I have a pretty sweet 97 F3 i'm working on right now. A friend crashed it so the new paint came about 4 months early! A few custom mods to it...custom molded 1 piece rear tail section and custom one piece front section ( covered up all the ugly seams in front), fixed all the road rash that was left on some pieces , mesh over the holes in fairings, frame sliders, custom red tribal graphics over metallic titanium paint. Also have a yoshi race slip on, k&n air, jet kit, complete fender eliminator with the plate on the swingarm, integrated rear tailight, flush mounts up front and custom red neon led's.....soon to come...undertail and polished rims( propbably will wait til winter) i'm ready to ride the damn thing!!!

ORIGINAL: 97f3rider

got a 97 F3. only a couple things done. D&D slip-on, db smoked windscreen, deleted rear hugger, and a shine you could only dream of.

the new screen is not in the pic.
