jet kit and filter?
i have a yosh slip on my 1996 cbr600 f3, i want to get a K&N filter and have the carbs jetted. what stage jet kit and
how much should it cost for both? Other then jetting, intake, slip-on and besides NOS what else is the best way to
squeez some power out of the f3's (advance timing, headers, etc)? Also if i want to advance the timing to get more
power will i have to rejet the carbs again?
Thanks,
Jay

RE: jet kit and filter?
I went with a stage 1 dyno and k&n filter with vance pipe. I also went up 2 and down 1. just to give it some more umph. It really helped I had a 91' f2. If you go stage 3 you have to keep racking your gas back at stop lights or fouling out plugs where it s overloading I think. I hope this helps. As far as price goes Honda dealer here in Knoxville told me 500.00 just for the jetting.

RE: jet kit and filter?
I have a 95 f-3 with full yosh rs-3 exaust ,stage 1 jet kit, I installed my jet kit.I had never really worked on carbs before ,or understood how they worked ,If u can read the instructions u can do it.I must have read through them 10 or 15 times, before I installed the kit,Ran great, in warm weather,But I had to adjust 4 winter, depending on the climate where u live.( colder=Richer/Warmer=Leaner).I put a k&n filter with the jet kit.It lasted 3 yrs the gauze started to wear out from being cleaned.I was broke at the time.So i took the oldfactory filter, cut the paper out ,Left the metalpart in the bottom, bought some bulk filter foam (Uni ) for about $12.00 cut it 2 size put a little contact cement on the sides, (oiled it 24hrs Later)Runs way better than it did with the$40 K&N filter. Only fools, buy parts & service @ a dealership, shop online or @ independant cycle shops that will match prices from the internet. Good Luck

An ignition advancer won't give you more power. It will actually take power away down at the low end, and maybe add 1hp at the top...which you'll never need or notice. Personally, I'd prefer power down low as I'm rarely bouncing off the rev limiter.

RE: jet kit and filter?
I have a F4 with a K&N air filter and I am about to install a yosh slip on. Alot of people say that you need a jet kit with aftermarket exhaust and a K&N.
Will my engine run too lean without a jet kit? Is that way most people jet, or is it just to increase hp?
I looked at dynojet's website, and it says that I will only pick out about 3.5 hp at the top end. This doesn't seem worth it to me to spend $120 for just 3.5hp. I can't image that I would feel that difference.
What do you think? Should I get a jet kit or not?
Thanks.
