cheating the odometer by swapping gauges?
is it really that easy?
i have 23k miles on my odo right now. i can swap it to another and say in 2 years when i sell it i can swap the original back in and it'll still say 23k miles?
the reason i ask is because i plan on doing the f4i gauges and this topic came to mind.

good idea in theory, but isnt the miles kept in the computers memory & not the gauge itself, so whatever u plug in will show the milage stored in the memory.

1) The actual milage is stored in the ECU, you'd have to swap that out, too.
2) After your bike hits 25k, you're not going to really lose much more value due to milage.
3) Your idea is not new, and is a federal crime in the US, with potential jail time.
Moral: Your idea is not worth the (jail?)time, effort, and money.

i have heard of guys buying another set of gauges when the get a new bike off a wrecked bike. they do thousand on the new gauges and and switch to the used until it was time to sell. and i have met guys who have unplugged the dash in there vehicles and use the gps for speed as to not rack up miles. total illegal and morally wrong. that **** will come back on you some how
