*RESOLVED* CBF600S Needle Rollers in Sump
Hi All,
Changing the oil yesterday on my 2005 CBF600S (Shares an engine with CBR, but detuned) - Found a load of what seem to be needle rollers on the sump plug and in the sump when removed. 1 or 1.25 diameter x 6mm length. 18 found. They look a bit chewed up, and like they've been there forever... so hard to determine original diameter Can anyone help identify which bearing they might have come from? Bike seemed to be running fine. It's the first oil change I've done on it since I got it about 6k miles ago. Now at 19k. Thanks for any help - Planning this bike on a European road trip in 3 weeks... https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...b9386b02b5.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...5991bf6645.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...b2a4822221.jpg |
Solution
Found the culprit - one of the needle roller bearings for the clutch lifter lever in the clutch case cover.
18 needle rollers, all recovered. |
Very good. Thanks for the follow up. That was an odd one indeed.
