Default Wheel Stripe Question

I am a new owner of a White 07 CBR 600RR. I was wanting opinions regarding wheel stripes - should I get the regular non-reflective wheel stripes or should I go for the reflective type? For my bike, I would get the red stripes. I am just unsure what type of stripes I should use. Can you guys post some pics for me of both types of stripes? Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of either type of stripe?

They look the same during the day time but the reflective is safer at night. I would go with the added safety of reflective.

What reason do you have to NOT go with reflective?

here is a bad photo of what the red tape looks like while being reflective:

I used the 5 dollar auto pin stripe from checkers. Same stuff they sell at any auto part store. And just applied it on the bubbled edge. Stole the whole idea from Blue Fox! Here is a pic .

I personally do not like the reflector tape. But to eachhis (her)own.

P.S. What did you use to paint the "Dunlop" on the tires?

Like Martin said, apply regular automotive pin-striping (NAPA has the best stuff) to the bubbled edge to get the most professional looking results. I did it to my 06 and Foxy 2.2.5..........I also did it to my roommate, Hamster's white 600RR (pictured above) as well as my other roommate Captain Slow. Easy to apply as well.

And it looks like someone found out where the "Tire Markers" were at the local autoparts store. I take it that's what you used for the Dunlop on the tires?

I used those at first, but found it tiring to touch them up every week or so to keep them looking good. I eventually went down to a local vinyl graphics shop, and had Dunlop decals printed. I just apply those to the sidewall of the tire, and I have great looking lettering that lasts months and doesn't take a few hours to touch up. I think it looks better as well................

I think that I have decided to go with the reflective. I will start with that and if I don't like it, it should be easy to remove, right? Then I can try the non-reflective type. I will only be out a few dollars and some time if I don't end up liking the reflective.

Now, my question is where do I find this reflective tape? Will I have to special order it offline or can I go somewhere and pick some up? Any suggestions?

E-bay sells pre-curved reflective tape.

If your lucky enough to have a CycleGear near by, they sell a roll for around $6 to $8 (one roll is enough for the bike).

If you buy a roll of straight tape, then check out this thread for an idea of how to apply it: https://cbrforum.com/m_321292/tm.htm

Not really. They're a pain in the *** to remove if you don't like them. If they're on for under 24 hours, they come off, but you'll have to work at it. If you leave them on for a couple days and decide to remove them, it's going to be a PAIN to get them off.......even with a heat gun or blow dryer.

I did it tonight. I went with the reflective. It isn't perfect, but not too bad.
