what size motor can you put on f2 frame

 

I dont think there are to many people that have been swapping engines. Id just take some measurments of the engine cage area in comparison to other bikes. It would probably cost a lot of money to convert this also. Probably better off buying a bigger bike.

Are you good at fabrication? If not, the size of your wallet will decide the size of the engine.

I believe a cbr 900 bolts in pretty simple with small modifications.

 

The 900rr motor will fit, with some mods to the motor mounts and also the top brace that runs from left to right above your airbox has to come out. Now if you think about it, the new 919 has the same 900rr motor,and it has fuel injection. Oh the possibilities!

 

Do you know anywhere I can find info on the 900rr swap into the 600?

 

There used to be a site called motomorph but they went out of business. It ends up being trial and error. You might try google and see if there are any other CBR sites or F2/F3 sites.

I might be wrong but i don't think Honda intended for 900rr engine to fit a f2 chasis that old. The frame, forks, and swingarm are different. Not saying that it won't work but why not just put an f2/f3?

 

Why do most of the people here have nothing but bad stuff to say about anything that seems to be different in the way of what was factory design.Maybe this is a hobby or just a fun little project for someone.Don't come around spitting your useless thoughts at everyone.We don't want to here it.Today people we want to know what engine is known to fit in this chassis.I read of this on a forum at cbrworld.net.There was some modification.The modification can be done yourself using a cutting/grinding wheel,and a welder.pick these up your self can save big bucks.
the top of the frame was notched is one thing i remember and the head looked tight in the top area of the frame
