velocity stacks or rims
i can't decide between the 2, if i go with velocity stacks, i'll be buying a filter and power commander also. the rims i want say they add 2-3 hp, very light. just looking to go alittle bit faster. thanks guys

RE: velocity stacks or rims
Rims will not add horsepower. They may lighten the load that the engine has to work against, but that is about it. If you are looking to add power, then I would go the other route. Rims may get lighter and may look better, but will not improve the HP. Good luck with your decision.

what i ment from dropping the et. equivalent to about 3HP more in the motor. dobt it would be that much, but you get what i'm saying

RE: velocity stacks or rims
Go with the rims. The stacks/filter don;t make the bike corner or brake any better, and the rims will help your acceleration ALL THROUGH the rev range, not just 10,000+ :)
Besides, no one is going to looks at your bike and say "Nice looking air filter! Is that stock?" |
RE: velocity stacks or rims
ya, very tru. haha.. has anybody put stacks on there bike and seen a big difference?
|
RE: velocity stacks or rims
i say rims as well not only will they help acceleration but lossing the unsprung weight will aid in handling and braking as well! and besides all the cool kids are doing it

RE: velocity stacks or rims
rims....but only if you are going with some that are significantly lighter than what you have.
