Thinking about shaving my head. Thoughts?
No, i'm not talking about trying to look like Mr. Clean.
Has onyone shaved the head on their f4i, or know the clearance?
Also, I don't want to raise the CR higher than will operate on 93 octane.

That my friend is a pretty serious question.... I would also like to know the answer. It is to the best of my knowledge that R engines operate with very little mechanical clearance, which is why they are so efficient for there size, and are able to achieve such ludicrous rpms. I think your biggest enemy here would be the chance that the valves might hit the pistons, not to mention that its going to cost you quite a bit. I would check and see what compression you are currently running, but im pretty sure its not high enough to go higher then 93 octane. If you can run a supra or s4 on 30lbs of boost, achieving a much more ridiculous end-compression rate then taking a 1/16 off your head might, then I wouldn't worry much about that issue. You honestly might be better off trying to find a lower profile head gasket, depending on how slim the one that is on there is already, I know that with cars you can change the compression ratio quite a bit by just putting on a different gasket, the same might apply for bikes, Id assume it would.... Any feedback?
Look into racing cams and springs. The head gasket may or may not work depending on your clearance. I was going to purchase a race cam kit with springs and gasket just before I had to sell my f4i. With a custom map you will be pushing about the same numbers as the new 600rr's.
So the question is, is all this work truly worth it? Why go that deep into a motor when you can put all that money toward's a newer bike?
