Stock Exhaust Mod.
Hey Everyone,
I guess you could say I'm new to the forum, although I've been reading threads since I got my new bike this January, I finally got myself a profile. I was wondering if anyone knows of different ways to modify the stock undertail exhaust on the 600rr's (I have a 2006). I read a while ago where someone posted a link to this site http://www.600rr.us/stock_exhaust_mod.html which involves drilling a couple holes just before the exhaust enters the baffle. All I am looking for is a little louder sound, no performance yet, that would be a free mod. I wasn't sure if anyone new if it was possible to cut the baffle down instead of drilling or any other possibilites? I am not planning on attempting this until my bike is broke in obviously. Thanks guys!!

i've posted this one a couple of times... it's the only real way to cut into the baffles... Basically if you got a long enough drill bit you could drill through the plate by sticking it in the end of the pipe, but cutting it open is sooo much easier... provided you have the tools to weld it back together.

Whats up Wellsy04
If your looking for some sound don,t cut holes in the Exhaust, remove the resonators from the ram air ducts. Improves sound (nice quality) no need to cut anything, and its easy to put back if you need to for any reason.

Thanks man, is there any way you could explain it a lil' more or post a diagram of what you're talking about? That would help tremendously!!
Thanks

if you take a loot inside the upper fairing... you will see the black "ram air tubes" inside the body color "ram air" covers.. underneath those you will see a black plastic piece that is triangular underneath each tube... these are the resonators... I've pulled mine out... just cause I had the upper fairing off... it's not worth it unless you take it out to do something else...

Thanks for the explanation...I'm sorry to sound stupid but how does this improve the sound of the exhaust? and to what extent if it does? I'm just trying to avoid buying a slip-on for now. Thanks again!
