Race Tuned Engine
I recently bought a 1992 CBR600F from my girlfriends dad for £1500 ($3108). All the Fairings are 1998 as is everything else on the bike apart from the frame. Its race tuned and produces around 150BHP with a top end of about 165MPH (265km/h) but he doesnt know what the Mod is. The bikes busy getting resprayed now because i came off it last week. which has resulted in £500 ($1036) worth of damage. Ill try uploada picture when i get one but i was just wondering if anyone might have an idea of what the Mod is.

No offence but I seriously doubt it makes 150 bhp (unless it has a turbo or on NOS with a pretty big "shot")... maybe 105 bhp with a really, really good race tune. To get 105 out of a F motor I'd say at a minimum the heads been ported and flowed, valve job done, head milled, hopefully the rods have been upgraded to or it'll be a ticking time bomb, and probably a little more. For example I run a 2005 600RR with a built race motor and I'm putting out an honest 117 hp at the rear wheel, on a factory pro dyno which reads about 5% less than the average dynojet, and mines got well over $3000.00 usd just in the motor work!

sorry brother, i hate to sound like a dick, but someone is telling you some bull****. my f3 has aton of motor work and only makes just under 107 at the rear wheel. i know a guy that has a 635 kit and ive seen the dyno run at 116, but your talking about alot of money. unless you got a built 900 motor in there its not likely that you have 150 hp man.

well it depends on what "race tuned" means.i have the 98 motor as well.i had my f3 tuned for racing, which made it run very rich. running that rich the bike wouldnt run worth a damn unless it was wide open throttle. now there are a few kits you can get for the bike. here is one site that offers alot of HRC parts. but you have to call them for f3 parts. http://www.2wheelsonline.com/hrc/cbr600f/index.html

the dyno shop i go to has an 06 600RR with a built motor and full exhaust and theirs does 110
