Painted Plastics

Bondo turned out pretty good for my first time, the blue didn't come out as dark as I would have liked but fine by me, next step is gas tank and front cowling haha. Any tips greatly appreciated.
BTW, I bought the bike with the damage, purely cosmetic
hah

when I did mine I used 300 grit sand paper.... smoothed everything out ... sprayed one light coat to see imperfections sanded at 500 grit and then sprayed the bike,....... mine looks awesome for only costing me around 20 bux.......

I just painted my bike, ill post pics later. My paint job cost i think right around 40 bucks... i did 300 dry, 400 dry and 400 wet on my tank. smooth as a babies ***. came out great. only advice i have is have patients, i spent i bet 20 hours on mine.
ya when I got the plastics they were pretty roughed up from a lay down, so I used 150grit to get all that out then went over with 220grit,then bondo'd crack and sanded the hell out of it,then came the rattle can black primer, sand more with 300 grit, then taped off where the black is and then 5 coats of rattle can blue, then 5 coats of clear, came out pretty well, however I was riding with them on and one of screws pulled through the plastic and fell off because it cracked where the bondo was from the wind blowing on it just the right way hah so there went 5 nights of work in just a second, really a kick in the nuts, but I do agree that it looks better street fighter so thats how it is now
BTW, you can see where I bondo'd in the last pic, starts near the bolt hole on the right bout 14in long total
Sand paper = 10 bux for asst. grits
2 cans Black Primer = 7 bux
2 cans Blue = 7 bux
2 cans Clear Coat = 10 bux
Already had bondo from previous jobs
Total Cost = $35
