yeah i have heard Mobill 4Tis good, Repsol is real good supposedly but it's expensive...personally i just pick up Honda Oil....not because i think it's better or worse, just because i know it's formulated to work well with the lube system of their bikes...but really, i don't think you will find a clear answer....when i changed my honda oil out for the first time with new honda oil, i could tell it shifted better, i doubt you will dramatic results in different oils, only marginal sooooo...that's my .02

I just put in shell rotella syn. Works just as well as the Honda and costs 16 bucks for 4 quarts at Wal Mart. Last time I used Honda HP4 syn and it cost 40 bucks for oil alone.

Good info here:

http://www.Blackstone-labs.com/

go there, do a UOA, and if you're happy with the results, keep using whatever it is you're using.

i read knightsluggers UOA of the HP4 on 600rr.net and was interested to see that after 1500 miles the oil had already crapped out.

interesting, i have HP4 in my 600RR right now, i am sending it to blackstone in about 2000 miles and see what happens. in my 1000rr i used to run repsol 4T until i noticed that the mobil 1 gold cap 15w50 was highly recommended off of 1000rr.net

3000 miles on it so far with no problems, clutch slippage, or tranny issues.

It wasn't HP4, it was GN4.
