Default Just installed my Protons

Well, I just got a set of Protons for my '06 F4i. For anyone considering these, here are some thoughts:

One of the signals wouldn't seat properly. I examined it against the one that fit fine, and it appeared as though it bulged a bit at the bottom. In order to make it look right when I tightened the nut, I had to put a makeshift spacer between the light and the plastic cowl.

The threaded shaft used to secure the light to the bike was not put into the light correctly. When I attempted to tighten the nut, the shaft turned and began to drill deeper into the light. I had to epoxy the shaft into the light assembly so I could tighten the nut.

The lights are marketed as having built in regulators to avoid the "fast flash" problem. I followed the directions exactly, but my signals still flash faster than factory. Changing the wiring between the orange and yellow on the light didn't make any difference. On the bright side, I was able to get the running lights to work as well as the turn signal.

Uninstalling and re-installing all the plastics on the bike isn't hard. However, if you are doing it alone, and it is 117 degrees in your garage at the time, it really sucks.

All in all, I probably would have been happier with the Greggs.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I didn't have a chance to take any pics during good light.

I had a similar experience installing the Protons on my F4i (before I sold the bike). Especially on just one side, it seemed like the wires coming out of the back side of the light didn't fit the hole in the fairing right, so I ended up drilling out the hole just a little so they'd fit better.

As for the flashing issue, did you happen to do the tailight too?

HVMP small weighted bar ends. Helps greatly with vibrations.

Thanks for the compliments.

Tailight is stock. Rear turn signals are bulb, not LED.
