header wrap

I just picked up some moose racing header wrap and I have heard good things and bad about header wrap.I am also not sure exactly how to put it on and if putting it on wrong has anything to do with it changing the integrity of the headers. I live in south carolina and it gets hot as hell so I want to try anything I can to drop a few degrees. If header wrap does make the headers rust is there a way to prevent it? what other ways could I keep the heat down? I can use any opinions, instructions and peoples experience with header wrap.

i have my headers and pipe wrapped because of the engine swap i did, you cant fit a fan anywhere... but yes it will deteriorate your headers alot faster than without. only because moisture will form and not be able to escape= rusting... header wrap is made for like nascar and dragsters where they change them out on a regular basis...
but to put it on get either the Stainless Zip Lock Ties or safety wire.. i used safety wire.. but get a approximate length that you will need and wet it.. wetting it will keep the fibers from getting everywhere!! and make it easier to work with and get it tight to the headers.. then i tied the top of the header but make sure the header flange is on the top of the wrap.. put a tie on it then wrap it down overlapping 1/4-1/2 the width.. make sure it is wrapped TIGHT! when you get to the bottom put a tie on it and trim it.. it will stink like CRAP and smoke for about 30 mins.. then it will be okay..
i havent noticed a difference because the fairings keep the heat in for the most part. and wear a mask, gloves and longsleeves and do it outside... hope this helps!
