my buddy recently dropped my 05 tribal 600rr and he paid me the money for the parts. I was thinking about ordered a full set of fairings of ebay [much cheaper]. I think most of you guys know what I"m talking about. I was wondering if they really do fit well and if any extra modifications are needed? Or if they are really worth buying? Or if there is anywhere else cheaper to buy, etc. I'm in Seattle, so if anyone knows anything it would be great to hear. Thanks yo.

I think it matters on which kit you purchase. I have seen rave reveiws on the Auctmart kits. The guys over at 1000rr.net have given them as high as a 9 out of 10 for quality and fitment.

I am waiting for my kit. I ordered a set on the 4th and should be seeing them in a week or so. If you can wait till then I will let you know how it goes. Hell, since your in Seattle I can even show you how they fit before you decide to order.

 

I bought a set and it was made of fiberglass. LUckily for me, I am a fiberglass repairer feen! They were thin, and i had to reenforce alot of the mounts and they dont have the lower v-cowl mounts on them at all. So their was a lot of repairing. YOur call.

 

I think most of the hong kong fairings are plastic. You get what you pay for, but from what I understand, if you can choke down the shipping charges, they're not too bad and look fairly decent.

There are somesets that are ABS plastic just like OEM. Fitment may not be perfect but its the same material as OEM

 

did you get the fairings installed yet? if so, how's the fitment? i was wondering about it too.

 

those replica fairings are way thinner

fitment sucks, those plastic can melt over time

it looks good for the first two months n its trash

fix ur OEM fairing and repaint it.
