Carbon and aluminium have also different sound, and the carbon absorb the heat better than aluminium: after a 2 hours run I can put my hand on my carbon exhaust....thing impossible to do with the original one!
well i dont plan on touching my exhaust after a run or riding a passenger so would the heat thing still be an issue? im just wondering if it is worth a $100 more or not? and does anyone know how much the stock exhaust, carbon two bros and the alm two bros weigh?
thanks everyone
thanks everyone
Aluminum - Made from Aluminum
Carbon - Made from a Carbon Fiber Shell
Hahahaha, just kidding, but for real.
Carbon wont retain as much heat, nor will it be as warm when you are dont riding or while riding. Also, it is usually lighter but as far as just for you using it riding around town, it wont do much for you except be cooler.

Heat dissipation matters more when the exhaust is under your butt. You will probably lose your stock heat shields when you install the pipe so you may end up with some melted parts after some hard riding with an aluminum can. Titanium and CF cans don't seem to have this problem. I have a CF can and I still added heat reflective tape on the underside of my tail and my leg still gets warm around the mid-pipe area.
go to 600rr.net
the exhaust section there has some weights of various cans out there
the 2 bros is one of them
for example the carbon leo vince that i just put on my 600 weighs 5lbs total for can and midpipe
that is way better than the 12lbs that the stock can and midpipe weighed in at
also go to your local auto store or summitracing.com and look up Cool-It heat shielding
it is a stick on reflective tape used to reflect heat, put that under the tail (you can even paint it black so its not the shiny silver it comes in)
then even an AL pipe wont be felt as much on the tail
although id still go with Ti or carbon fiber
