Default Decal ?

I'm new to the site, but haven't been able to stay off of it for days now, except for going to work and sleeping of course. I've noticed a few bikes (600RR's) on here that have had the original big "wings" removed. How do you do this? I have an 05 red/black stickers and they feel awfully smooth and looks like there might be clear coat over top of them. Am I imagining this and they just peel off, or would I have to take the bike to a paint shop and have them removed and the fairings repainted/clear coated? Thanks for the help

You're imagining things, just keep picking at it with your fingers and it'll come right off...I swear.

Actually some do and some dont, I really dont know why, either way they will come off though. Just use a heat gun/hairdryer.

Thanks to the people who replied. Trying to decide if I'm ready to do it or not, I've only had the bike a week. Without the stickers the bike has a totally different look to me, and its a goooooood one!

if you got a heat gun or a blow dryer use that as well just heat up the area and peel slowly... if they are under the clear you will know and if so just go slow and after you will have to clean wet sand then buff to get the lines out but its worth it

Hey Fulla,

Did you decide to take the decals off? Im on the fence about it as well with my 04 silver/black 600 RR. I bought the bike with a carbon fiber exhaust and a fender eliminator kit, but other than that its stock and am debating what I can do to make it a little bit more "mine"

also, when you heat the decals up do not get the body too hot because the paint will bubble and you WILL be pissed...trust me, i had to put a cbrracing decal over mine (problem solved)

I think you can try out this spray callled bug remover . They sell it at autoparts store. It might remove the residue from the decals. Have you tried that yet?
