Default Custom Tail...

So at fist I bought the bikelitez fender eliminator, and its crap. No offense to those who like it but its cheaply made and looks horrible. So I did a little research and read that an 06 rear tail light fits rather easily into the tail of an 07 (what I have) with minor mods. Not true. I had to dissect the whole rear light, trim it up with a dremel, etc... but the end result came out awesome. I have an integrated tail light in the tail of my 07, with no fender mods.. came out sick. Check it out below. Id be happy to explain how I did it if anyones interested.

Its not that difficult, Its pretty simple. I like this look better than any of the eliminators as well. Looks good

Looks real clean! I'm not sure but I've heard that wedging it in there real snug like can make part of your tail kinda stretch. Maybe your dremel work took care of that issue though... I'm currently trying to figure out what my options are for my license plate to install my custom tail-light from Hanger R&D (designed for the 07/08)... I'm not a "fender" licenseplate kinda guy... so I'm kinda stumped. It looks pretty similar...

(It's got integrated signals in it as well, here's some examples)

That's the only problem with it that I have............once you re-attach the plastic tip on the end of the exhaust, you can barely see the brake light.

I'm thinking that if you took a dremel with a sander attachment, and shaved about 1/2-inch of that lip on the cowl just around where the light goes, it will move it up a bit, greatly improving rear visibility.

I can see what you mean about it being hard to see the light. I have a yosh pipe on my bike, so it doesnt have all those fenders and whatnot around it, its just the tail with the light in it, and the pipe.. looks real sharp. I have my plate on a vertical mount down by the rear sprocket. Not legal but its out of the way and keeps my tail clean.

that is hideous, but atleast it serves it's purpose as a visible taillight/brakelight.

Since my baby has been wrecked (and the possibility of me having to purchase an 07 or 08 seems to be getting closer and closer) I've been toying around, trying to find a good solution to this problem. I'm pretty sure that I'll probably end up either fabricating a "Raccoon Tail" like I made for my 06, or getting out the dremel tool and shaving out the lip around the tip of the tail to do the 06 taillight mod. Going to have to play with it some more.
