I have an 05 600rr and i want to add a fat tire kit but nobody seems to make them not even for a honda 1000rr im thinking of just trading it in for a gsx-r 1000 just cuz they make way more fat tire kits and extenders and all those cool chrome parts what do u all think?

If a fat rear tire is that important to you, do it. You obviously don't ride aggresively because you know that a fat tire will diminish the handling considerable. Also be prepared to pay at least double if not a little more for insurance. If a fat tire is what you want and the pros out weigh the cons, do it.

those fat tire kits do look bad-***. but IMO it's for show and no go. a dude in a gixxer 1000 w/ext swingarm and like 220 back tire rode with us once. riding in straight lines were fine but once it got twisty... fuhgettaboutit!!

to each his own though. best of luck in whatever you do!

losiracer is right. you wont be able to handle worth a damn with those fat 300 tires. and personally i think they only look good on like a busa and bikes like that with the long swing arm... you know, like a drag bike.

personally i like a bike that looks like motoGP bikes, agressive and the real deal. but thats just my pref.

well...if that's really what you want to do, don't trade it in but sell it privately or else you'll lose money in the deal.

why can't you put a 190 series tire on the bike now?

How big or a tire are you wanting to go. Gixxers can only go so big until you have to change everything and get a double chain if you extend it. "more cool chrome parts" leads me to believe you are in it for the looks and not the enjoyment of riding. Anything bigger than a 210-220 is going to make a big turn like a cinder block. Have you look into the prices and costs of doing this??? Its LOTS if you want it done right. To each his own, but it defeats the purpose of having a liter bike. Yea, it has more power, but you lose a lot of handling and a lot of power and a lot of functionability (yes, that is now a word), especially if you extend it and have to go with a double chain. If you want my personal, honest opinion, I think its dumb, and I dont like the way it look if you plan on actually riding. You'll be able to go from point A to B if it is in a straight line, anything else, you will be fighting on turns. My buddies Busa turns like a like a Semi, not very good at all. People make Fat Boy kits for the 600 and 1000 RR, but most of them are chrome. People will also do custom orders too, its not hard for them to make one, and if you have someone who knows what they are doing around you, they and use your stock swingarm as a guide, but like I said, If you go to big and to extended, plan on spending quite a bit on a reverse double chain, and that will reduce the life or your chains, sprockets and tires......Just stuff to think about.

I'm pretty sure the biggest tire you can put on a 600RR is a 180. I personally wouldn't get a 1000 just because you want to bling out a bike and put a big tire on it.
