So this idea has been rattling aound in my head for awhile now so I just decided to go ahead and do it. I went on ebay and bought a stock seat and a stock seat fairing for my 06 F4i. My idea is to cut the seat in half and then trim and shape the foam and plastic under the seat and then re cover the seat as two seperate sections, one for the top and one for the bottom. Now I could fill the gap in between the seats with fiberglass and bondo and re-shape the tail section and follow the all of the stock lines.
I already checked out the mounting of the seperate seats. the upper part should be no problem because it hasthelatch and two hooks that go into the subframe. The lower seat however would need to be attached to the subframe by some sort of clip that I could fabricate.
If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas i'd love to hear them. I will be starting this as soon as I recive the parts .
