Hey William, welcome to the forum!
You've done a very good job on the bike, it can be difficult to get everything neat and tidy once the plastics are removed.
I know there are a couple of guys in the process of doing this to their bikes, I'm sure you will provide them with some inspiration.
The custom rear looks great!!

Hey thank you for your kind words.
I've had 2 friends help me out with some cutting and welding, but about 90% of the work was done by me. I believe that everything can be achieved by simply taking time and doing things carefully. The bike still has a fair bit of work to be done and lots of details that need to be addressed. There are a few cables that need to be tidy up and some painting to be done as well.
Regarding how I feel about the outcome so far, I guess that this is the best way to put it is....I'm very thankful that life has presented me with the opportunity to do the things I love, so yes, I'm happy with the results of the bike, but more than anything, I'm grateful for the opportunities that I've had in life...I don't want to sound too philosophical or cheesy, but one must be thankful of life every day, that's my way of thinking anyway

Oh for sure. Few things in life are as satisfying as putting a lot of work into something and having it turn out
I know when I took mine apart I was surprised at the sheer amount of stuff crammed underneath the fairings. I'm pretty sure these bikes have more wires and hoses than a chev truck of similar vintage. Massively overbuilt, right down to the powerplant
Awesome bikes, and a good job cleaning her up so far

Nothing quite like it for making you appreciate life and take time to smell the flowers
Hawkwind:
Most people that are very appreciative of life, most likely have had a near-death experience in order to feel that way.
But anyways, good to know that it wasn't your time and your still here
Anyway, bike talk....
Last night while I was visiting my brother in law, as I was leaving, the headlight of the Honda stopped working,
fortunate for me, he had a spare bulb.
When we removed the burned bulb, I realized that I had a low wattage bulb fitted....we replaced it with a stronger one....after going for test drive, I couldn't believe the massive difference that a good bulb makes! When I came home, I came via a local road that doesn't have a lot of lighting and I could really tell the difference there....the whole road lights up!
Sometimes we overlook at these things when we rush and it's the little things that can make an important difference.
From now on, I will always check the wattage in front lights, even my car ones, as having powerful ones make a significant difference...

Super nice looking!!!
I love the single headlight, seat mocking a solo seat, bar end mirrors and the coolant reservoir red can. I would have tried to keep the oil cooler up front. It would look so cool to my taste, but I know is not an easy task.
