- Mark dots on the location of each hole (sharpie or paint pen). Put them in the same area where we put our holes (inside that round part between the outer lip of the can and the exhaust tube).

- Take a center punch or some tool steel punch with a sharp tip and dimple the dots you just marked

- Take a tiny drill bit like 1/8" to start all of the holes. When drilling, be sure to align the the direction of the drill be to be nearly perpendicular to the surface in all directions or else the drill bit will walk away.

- Move up to a medium sized drill bit like 1/4"

- Finish it off with yet larger drill bit, then the final size

You can do it! Loud pipes save lives.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents. I actually cut the entire outside of the pipe out. It is basically straight piped, but the cans give it a deep loud tone. Looking into the can it is obviously restrictive. I have much better response and I love the sound.

Just installed the vance hines ssr 4 into 1 exhaust...wtf I cant tell a difference in sound while riding. Its a bit louder on the muffler side if you are off the bike revving it, but overall the exhaust hole drill mod mufflers sound similar.
