ways around akrapovic muffler?
so i've had the full system akra pipe on my 08 1k for a few weeks now... and i just can't get over how crapy it sounds... used to have a jardine, and it sounded a million times better. so, is it possible to repack my muffler for better sound? or would simply exchanging the muffler to another brand give me better sound without the loss of power?

RE: ways around akrapovic muffler?
I have one on my 04 1000RR and it was just the slip on as the techs told me the full system was not but 1 or 2 added horses and customers felt for the money it was not worth it.
After ripping out the flapper in the front intake, putting in a race air filter, and a power commander it sounds great, but only after it is warmed up and has been ridden for an hour or so. the real sound only comes wide open in gear but I kind of know what you are saying I was hoping for a more menacing sound and never got it.however with that said the performance is there with 165hp and 85lb of tourque to the rear wheel on the dyno. with a few extra teeth on rear sprocket Ohlens suspension and forged aluminum Marchesinni wheels it is almost there.
I would leave it, myself.
