what going guys i need some help with my 04 cbr 1000.i brought it last year from a individual who had it set up for stunts.cool no problem,so i noticed right away the big sprocket in the rear.took it for a spin and i topped out at 115.so im saying it must be these sprockets.went back to the stock sprockets and im still topping at 140mph.what else is left?i have a pwr commander and i did the flapper mod with a yoshi slip on.you guys got any ideas it would be appreciated.thanks blayze

 

Did you change the front back to stock too?

 

the front has a stock 16 and the rear has a 42

 

are you using all 6 gears ? Something is not adding up here. For one i show a stock rear for an 04 1k to be a 41 tooth. But that dont matter much, even using your 16/42 that you say you have, i have top speed at 164mph. Is therea speedo healer giving youa bad reading or something perhaps, something aint right.

 

im not sure but my 140 does feel like its faster.what about timing would that be an issue,or clutch?

 

Speedoheeler? Maybe its on the wrong setting and you really are going faster

the 04 models had a recall on the speedo. thats what i found out when my top speed was 110. call honda customer service and give them your vin and they can tell you if it was repaired or not, if not take it to the stealership and make them fix it. theyll prolly have to order the speedo, so dont expect them to have the parts there in the shop. good luck

Honda stopped putting fluid in the headlight in 94. They went to synthetic blinker fluid.
