Default Questions for the experienced guys...

i have read on the gixxer forums about a TRE (timing retard eliminator). its basically a signal to the ecu that the bike is still in the lower gears to limit torque. and a way around that is intall a resistor to trick the ecu into thinking the bike is in 5th.

does honda do anything like that?.....

Negative -- you are fully torqued in all gears on the bird. You are limited to 186mph though unless you get the HRC brain.

Actually, a speedohealer will take the 186 limiter off as well and it's only $80, but i Honda doesnt make a bike that fast yet so that's irrelavent. Someday maybe.
