yeah but do you have a before and after dyno
that is the question
before and after dyno charts that were done on the same day on the same bike on the same dyno with the same map have been posted in various places showing BMC race filters give more power.

the same thing needs to be done with a K&N because the "butt dyno" doesnt hold up in horsepower court

Hey, hey, hey! My Butt-Dyno is the most precise measuring device known to man. You're just jelous you don't have one, so there.

On a more serious note, no, I don't know if it gains power, but at the same time, I really don't care. I've used them in my cars, and they've never let me down (especially because of the dusty environment I operate them in). So naturally, I installed one on my bike and have been happy with it. If the "real" dyno results come back saying it doesn't gain anything, I'll still be happy with it knowing I never have to replace it when it gets dirty. Just my two cents on the matter though.

hmm maybe i need to get my butt dyno recalibrated then
i mean i know my butt can do wonderful and amazing things (like play a trumpet)
but the hp calibration must be a little off
hope its not that painful of an adjustment

I just ran across this article and remembered this thread.I'm not advocating one air filter over any other, but there seems to have been some research done on this,so I'm submitting this for consideration.I have a 93 1000 CBR,with a stock filter, does fine for me and my riding style.I'll most likely stay with it.Anyhow... here it is

just to clarify
that was for a RC51
if you look at the parent site www.rogueracing.org
and go to the 1000RR page instead of the rc51 page
he also says that the BMC race do enhance the 1KRR
