i think you'll do better with BMC Race Filters ... just make sure you clean them every 4000 miles

I've never seen a dyno of stock vs k&n on the cbr1000rr. So you can't really say thay will hurt. Some people have do it on other bikes, but not this one. Maybe a dyno is needed cause I hear about this all the time. I run k7n's on my bike, and like them. There cleanable, and easy to put in.

yeah i say go with what has been proven
unless of course you have the money to buy the K&N
get them dynoed
then the stock dynoed
and compare and hope for the best

I run K&N in all my cars, and my bike (2006 600RR). It does feel just a little bit quicker, but that could just be in my head too. I just know that when they get dirty, you just clean and recharge them, no buying replacement filters. Less hassle for me since I live in the dusty desert (I clean mine every oil change).

One big difference........they make your bike sound deeper and throatier, especially during full throttle (makes the bike sound really mean during low rpm full throttle roll ons.) I'm pleased with the K&N's. Just my two pennies.
