As to the heat issue, I've had my HB exhaust installed for about 6500 miles now and there's been no heat distortion except for where I initially installed it incorrectly and the pipe was touching the underseat area. I fixed that problem and have had none since. So I have nothing BUT positive things to say about it. It looks completely different than ANY other slip-on, so wouldn't that be the exact opposite of being a "poser", mene? On top of that, you basically get three for one deal on the $700.00 - exhaust, turn signals, and a smooth undertail. In my opinion $700.00 well spent, not blown, mene. It says nothing on the pipe or anywhere I've found that says it was made by D&D. It is, however, an extremely compact muffler, roughly 7-8 inches in length. And like errick says, It is amazing how light this whole set up is. When I got on my bike after installing it, I could actually feel a weight difference just by leaning the bike left and right with my feet on the ground. Sure they are noisy, but who buys an aftermarket slip-on pipe because they want it quiet? I think it has a great deep tone at idle and again at around 3K. After that, it just screams. I love my choice in slip-ons and am glad that when I was shopping for a slip-on I didn't listen to asses like mene who thinks his **** don't stink because he buys what he sees everyone else buying instead of venturing out on his own for something original. And by the way, now Icon jackets are "poser" clothing? What the hell is that about?

anyways, i'm feeling kinda smothered w/all the love that all the Hotbodies lovers have showered upon me so i'm outta here ... just coz you are stuck with your crappy product, its not my fault - the least you can do is prevent others from making the same mistake.

 

Ok guys mene wants us to be posers so lets be posers. everyone race out an get the same pipe as him an the rest of the world. then lets get a handful of useless, an piontless sticker, including a psp sticker(wtf is that bout?) and paste them all over our bikes. Then lets ride around town doing the posted speed limits and brag on how much horsepower, and speed our bikes have that we will probly never use.

 

maybe they could save the exhaust fund money for starbucks!

of all the bits on my bike why am i not surprised that you chose to rail on the poor stickers ? why not the 'magic' mirrors instead ?

ok, here's the deal I work at a shop and have only installed 3 hotbodies undertail exhaust. 02 GSXR 750, 04 600 RR, 04 1000 RR.

The Gix was the first, it was clean looking and an easy install. The sound was decent but when the guy came back to have swingarm extensions, and lowering links installed we ran into problems. The pipe is made to accomodate stock ride height and the way it was bent caused the pipe to rub the swingarm, and the new batterybox bottomed out on the swingarm also.

The 600RR was a flawless install great sound and super clean looks. A++

The 1000RR was the same as the 600.

The kit looks clean, just make sure you pay attention to what you are doing if you're installing it yourself. If you are going to have a shop install it, please buy the parts through them, it sucks as a small business man to see someone spend their money on the net when they could have gotten you the same part for just as much or possibly less.

 

mene - your getting flamed on because of the choice of words you used to explain the negative feedback on hotbodies exhausts.

the topic starter wanted to know how well the HB exhaust for it's price. he didn't ask if there was a HP gain, how it might sound. So we all gave our opinions on what we thought of their exhausts. I might of leaned towards HB because I do like their products but why the F*** would I care if I push him into a HB deal or for that matter anyone that is giving good feedback about it.. You gave a negative feedback and we arent going off on you for that. But for calling someone a poser for having a opinion? there's your problem..

also he was ragging on your "PS2" sticker because he wants you to feel how it is to be on the other side.. We are all honda riders, we all have our different opinions - so try to be respectful (sorry to sound like a ***** or the bad-guy.. i'm just letting ya know)

 

I read a magazine a little over a year ago that rated the HB exhaust as the loudest in db (more so than the D&D) - But I think it looks hot!

I didn't want anything that loud, so I went with a scorpion. I am not at the skill level that I really noticed a difference in HP, so I don't care about which one puts out the most. My opinion might be different if I was tailoring it to the track; fortunate for me, I ride mine on the street.

If you like the looks and loud doesn't bother you, then you should buy it.

fWiW i have nothing against Hotbodies nor am i getting paid by Arata (don't have either on my bike)
and i'm sure that if the Op would have researched his choices further he would have made the right choice too

and my stickers ? those are just my personal 'poserific' indulgences ... kinda like my 'magic' mirrors, haha
the only difference is i can get rid of them for little or no cost to me
