Wow, what a difference! I only need to turn the throttle about an inch now for full throttle. Much better control since my elbow isn't touching my knees anymore!!

For anyone interested in doing this yourself, if you don't already know how, just pull the cable housing apart, take the brake lever off so you can get the cables out, and super glue a filler piece (I cut a piece of rubber I had, it was about an 1/8 of an inch thick) glue that onto the cam and just taper the ends so the cable rides up on it smoothly. Make sure the filler piece is the same width as the cam and then put it back in the housing and make sure it operates correctly and snaps back with no problem!

That's right, but I found they were to riggid, not as wide as I wanted, and I had to double them up and hope the glue held. So I just skipped all that and found something thick enough, held shape, and that I could trim if needed. But whatever it takes I highly reccomend it as long as you have GOOD throttle control, cause it's ALL right there, hang on!

 

im not smart enough to figure this out and i think that may be alittle bit too short for me. i wouldnt mind shortening my twist but not quite that far.

 

No Dude it's simple and it really isn't that short, it's just a more natural wrist movement! trust me, you'll be glad you did it!

 

All you getta do is
1- take the brake lever off
2- take the throttle off
3- undo the cables
4- find something about 1/8 of an inch thick that you can superglue to the cam. something that you can trim, like rubber. cut the piece so that it comes about 1/4-3/8" from the cable hole...all the way around to about 1/4-3/8" from the other hole and just trim at an angle, taper, so the cable rides up on it smootly when you twist the throttle.
5- screw the housing back together and see if it turns alright, if it does, take it back apart and put everything back together and go for a ride.
