HID MOD
Ok so I installed HID lights on my motorcycle (2006 CBR 1000RR) but failed.....I don't know what went wrong or where but It's all F'd now...
I installed low beam to perfection, taking my time wrapping wires maticulously and feeding them under the seat etc etc... I then checked to see if they were operational... PERFECT!!! Now time to do the high beams. Once again I take my time and do a nice job but when I went to turn the light on to check... NOTHING... Not even the low beam I checked earlier!!! So I look around for an hour, rechecking connections and what not and had no luck so I put the old stock bulbs back in and now they aren't working!!! Is there a fuse to check because I don't know where it is... I have only had thisbike for 2 weeks now and I don't have an owners manual for it... Oh and the worst thing>>>>>IT WON'T EVEN START NOW!!!! I turn the key and nothing.... All the other lights, taillight, blinkers, license and the little on in front above the headlights all work..Anyone have a clue about this???
Thanks
btw sorry if I should have place this in tech section, if so could a mod move it thanks, and sorry

ok i had this problem installing my HID. Before you turn on the high beams make sure you turn on the bike first with the low bean on ONLY then try to turn on the High beans after the bike is turned on. If that is not the problem check the two wires in the front where you would connect the light make sure the black wire goes in the right spot.
I think you need to go up a amp on the fuse size....i will look at mine in the morning to see what I went up too. As for the bike not turning on it sounds like another fuse issue...have you checked all of them?
I also had to go up fuse sizes in my car when I did the install on her.

Contact the company you bought them from. Contact the one company that made them and see if they have a troubleshooting section on their website.
On the COG (Concours Owners Group)web site they frequently talk about this mod. True HIDs run at 35 watts instead of the stock 50 watt for low beam and 65 for high.
They say switching to HIDs will keep your amperage draw down compared to a stock bike. That is the way some of them can add extra lights and heated clothing or heated grips or the many other things like a GPS or IPOD. If your amperage draw is down you shouldn't be needing a more powerful fuse.
Have you done all the extra checks like double checking that your lights are properly grounded or that they do not use a reverse english (+) ground instead of a negative ground? You did remember to hook up the battery again? What is the draw across the battery when you try to start it? These batteries are very small compared to some and just don't have a lot of extra cca. Maybe it is just too much to handle. Maybe not but who knows. Disconnect them completely and see if your bike will start with the stock lights back in.
One more thing you did buy a HID system made for a motorcycle and you didn't buy a set for a car did you? They are different (I believe). Again try the web site of the company and double check the model number to see if they are meant for a bike and not a car. Theyshouldn't work if meant for a car. What kit did you buy?
EDIT to add this info: I don't mean to be a spoil sport or anything and you can surely ignore this if you want but you do realize any HID kit you install after market is not DOT approved for street use? The HID kit must be installed by the factory to be approved for street use in the USA anyway. If you are not from the USA then it doesn't matter to you anyway. Just a tidbit that most people seem to ignore on every site I have been to. The 90/100 watt halogen upgrade bulbs are also for offroad or show use only as are the blue, purple, green, yellow, etc.... bulbs. White is the only color legal in the USA probably because any annoying lights would start a road rage fight.
