Fender eliminator for stock exhaust, help!!!
I know there have been a few posts about this, but I need to do something to relocate my plate with stock exhaust (04-05). For right now I am just using the stock inards rigged up to hold a plate. I really want something clean and simple, mounted up under the tail, and I dont care about signals. I was thinking about mounting a bracket to the battery box. Also what are you guys doing about your heatshield and tip? I took off the heatshield and tip, and it looks better, but has a huge gap between the tail and muffler. I was thinking about painting and trimming the heatshield, but dont know if it will look okay. Please post pics up.

Well....i made a barcket out of Aluminum angle from lowes along with some LED tag botls.....less than $10 worth of angle and about $20 for the LED's......it attaches to the lip of the batterybox on a 04/05.....I rode around wih it zip-tied vertically on the rear passenger pegs for about 2 months while i was figuring a plan of attaack.....lol
as far as the stock exhaust.....not sure.....there is a pic of one from www.hardracing.combelow...it has a compitition werks F/E kit on it with the bar mounted signals...

I did something very similar. used the aluminum for some sort of guttering (about $3) and formed it to go from the battery box down and hold the liscense plate. Basically, it is the same as wolfpack, but I have my plate faccing more verticle (keep the ccops happy)

RE: Fender eliminator for stock exhaust, help!!!
black04rr, I just installed the CW fender eliminator kit on my 06 and did some custom trimming on my heat shield to try and get a cleaner look without getting rid of the shield. I read a few posts that mentioned that the stock exhaust runs hotter then aftermarket ones, so until I lose the stock exhaust the shield will stay. I'll post some pictures of it when I get home tonight so you can see what I did. Later, Mike

black04rr, here area few pictures of my new CW fender eliminator and Clear Alternatives taillight with the stock exhaust. The heat shield work is not perfect, but for now it will work just fine until it's time for a new exhaust. If you're good with a dremel tool the heat shield can be cut without removing the exhaust. With the tail section onI used a marker to traceout the new heat shield. Then remove the tail section and carefully cut the shield. Near the end of thetailpipe the clearance between the heatshield and the pipe is very close. I just wedged a rag in-between the two to get some extra clearance while cutting. Later, Mike
