Default Exhaust valve Question

I havent seen this talked about in awhile so I guess I`ll ask again... Has anyone found out performance effects after disconnecting the stock exhaust valve cables so it stays open all the time ? I did the flapper mod the second day I had the bike but wonder if anything can be gained at the exhaust valve before the PCIII gets wired.

The exhaust valve is Purely to get the bike past emissions and noise tests at 5k rpm. Rip it out and throw it away, well the cables. Mine ran alot better without its use. If your getting a pc3 try the Dan kyle map for a stock bike see what you think, its in the new map section.

i do know that disconnecting that flows the air more freely and you'll run boggy at lower RPM's, so im with the other guys, get a pc3 and load a new map

The cables have been on the garage floor for a couple of days now and I havent noticed any ill effects, like bogging (Anafranil; lack of low end power due to less backpressure in the exhaust) any more than it did with the valve connected. My bike has always been an @$$hole in stop and go traffic. Anything under 10 mph causes a very sore left hand. Its time for that sprocket change......

Much better with the full system, mine was better with just the can. Get a pc3 and get it setup on a Dyno for best results it transforms your bike.

Default RE: Exhaust valve Question

Another question:

I have the stock exhaust still fitted and am thinking of disabling the exhuats valve without removing the cables entirely.

FOr those who have simply disconnected them at the valve leaving them in place at the solenoid is there a risk of them working loose at the solenoid or are they firmly fixed?

It looks as if the tension on the cables is maintained at the exhaust valve cos of the butterfly valve return spring. I am concerned that if I simply remove the cables at the exhaust valve that they will work thier way loose at the solenoid and possibly get tangled causing problems or FI warnings.

Anybody had any issues with this?

thanks
