Default chrome frame sliders

i put these frame sliders on my bike a few days ago. easy instalation all u gota do is take the fairing screw out and screw the slider right in. ive heard bad things of metal sliders. these are about 2 and a half inches not big at all but seems they do stick out enough to protect the bike in a fall or if i drop it. they were only 20$ ... wut would be the bad things about these sliders? do the bad things over come the good things?

The one major flaw I see is that the bracket that the slider is attached to is no where near strong enough to handle the weight of the bike being dropped on it. It's just a simple, dainty little fairing stay. I could see it working IN CONJUNCTION with a regular frame slider though..

For example, I had Vortex sliders on my 06, and when I crashed, the part of the fairing that your slider is attached to was rashed up a bit. So I could see it being installed as a helper (kind of like swingarm spool sliders.) But not just a frame slider by itself.

These are my chrome frame sliders. I got the ones that cut into the fairing but I have only heard real bad things about the no cut ones.
