after market rearsets touch-down!!
the crew was riding yesterday and one of my friends has a 08 cbr1000 as well, with sato racing aftermarket rearsets, i still have on my OEM rearsets. We normal corner really hard and low on the streets because our country has no circuit tracks only 1/4 mile tracks, so we ride hard everywhere.
we took this right corner with a slight camber extremely low, i went in first my peg started scraping the ground but the OEM rearsets are spring loaded so they fold in, i was safe throughout the corner. When i went through the corner i looked back in my mirror to see how low my friends were going only to see this yellow and black 08 sliding straight out into the side walk, flipped and hit a wall then went up in flames... i was like wtf is going on! When i turned around and headed back i saw my friend there sitting on the sidewalk with his knee busted open. When i asked him what happened he said the peg touched the asphalt taking the weight off the tires and sent the front end sliding his traction points on those tires went haywire so he lost control and ... the guys behind him did confirm that, he's lucky but thats pretty messed up! i never thought of it like that! there are still marks on the road from the rearset.
though i know when going that low we need to use the knees to bring back the tires in to the traction point zones but we were not wearing knee sliders that day...i guess its the rider's fault in a way!
but my fold in OEM rearsets saved me and i went through the corner perfect!
Have anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

ppl its not the leaning and yes we were sliding off the seat we were hitting the corner at about 135mph!! we were not over leaning! i took the corner perfectly its just that first time we dipped that low with out dragging the knee because we weren't wearing pants with knee sliders that ride. All i wanted to know is if anyone evr encoutered this delima? And it didnt happen to me, it happened to my friend!
trust me we've riding for over 7yrs now. My country is a small island, there are no circuit tracks so what else can we resort to, we're not the type of riders that just ride around showing off our bikes with no intention of learning to perfect the sport! attended the kevin schwantz riding school in atlanta about 4 yrs ago too.
TheX dont question our skill try and question your own...you're prob one of those guys that love to cruise on a sportbike, YOU learn to ride! you must have never ever hit a corner over 40mph in your life!

Look at the best riders out there, do they EVER have this problem? No. Because they know that they have to get their bodies off of their bikes to turn properly. *IF* you knew how to do that you have never posted such a rookie thread.
Again, the best advice is learn how to lean and turn properly.

ok X sorry bout that! i dont like the insults for no apparent reason, we are all part of the cbr family c'mon man! but the reason of the thread is to ask if anyone ever experienced this, but we were off the bike its just we cudnt stick out the knee to slide on the road, but say what small thing man!! its my friend fault in a way but sometimes yu just have to burn to learn! he's getting the '09 repsol replica cbr anyway! i guess a win/lose situation!
i wasn't trying to be tough, i might be new to the forum stuff, but say what i'll keep it for the streets!! kool.
