Was just thinking..
Can the 1000rr stock mirrors be shortened? I'm talking about the stems from off the mounting plate that attach to the base of the mirror head? Or is this all 1 piece?
Just curious.....if you could mount a shorter stem in place of the stock longer one.

Yeah u can shorten them if u cut them and then reweld em. If u want u can get pig spotters which are low profile mirrors. I havent seen any shorter ones tho out there so ur probly gonna b stuck wit em how they r

 

I think what I'll do is put a set of 900rr shorty mirrors on my 1000rr.....
They have a shorter connecting rod......

 

i actually like to use my mirrors i wish mine stuck out further

 

+1 on the longer ones stock ones line right up with my arm when i have a heavy jacket on

 

+2 on the longer mirrors. I have to tuck in my arms just to see behind me, but I would never ride my bike without mirrors. They've saved my *** a couple of times.

 

Any intrest in a diy w/pics on extending the mirrors an " or so ? Was thinking of doing that this winter anyway. Thought maybe it was just my big wide *** that was the problem ! I gotta drop an elbow and move my head to the side to get a peek in the mirror.
