RE: 1000rr mods
It's an ugly situation with the passenger pegs, nothing like the other 600's or 1000's. Some people at www.1000rr.net just hacksawed the damn things off. Not sure why Honda had to make this so difficult.
It is a damn nice bike though.

RE: 1000rr mods
aftermarket fairings, scorpio i900, laser extreme.
2 of the 3 are already enroute to me.
Any advice on installing them? anything i need to buy ahead of time (high temperature silcone?). Also any advice on how to make those not perfectly aligned fairings fit a lil better outside the use of a bremel? I've seen zipties used to secure 2pieced bottom fairings, but they come out fitting snug and beautiful for aftermarket. Either way any advice is appreciated.
Edit: i have an 07 cbr1krr
Also, another question. Can i rig flames to shoot out of the exhaust?....i only ask out of intellectual curiosity as this is illegal in california and i have no intention of doing it....but would like to know in my relentless pursuit of knowledge.

RE: 1000rr mods
I have known a few guys that did the hongkong fairings off ebay...some good..some not so good...and all require very careful fitting and a whole ton of patients. I helped a guy with one...and he got so frustrated I just told him to go and I would finish for him....took me three days. but it came out really nice. I used Dzus 1/4 fastners and fabed a few extra brackets. but anything worth doing is worth doing right. go slow..take your time... you may not get an exact fit on all panels but it will look good. if ya get miffed.....stop and go for a walk..have a beer...whatever. (hint:do not continue when alcohol has been introduced...very bad things will result)
to make it really look spectacular...some thing my father taught me that he did way back......rig a spark plug in the tail pipe to a coil with a switch....they used to run to old rods rich any way so it added a lil flavor...hit that switch with a good rev....and WOOSH
another way is with the same plug set up and a small propane canister(heavily regulated)...nice night show. but like ya said..TOTALLY illegal,,EVERYWHERE
