Is is posible to switch out the rear end of an 04 F4i with that crappy looking banana seat back to the old split seat design of the 03 F4i? If so, how, and does anyone have the parts?

 

yes, search split seat conversion in the f4i forum. there are THOUSANDS of threads about this. total, it will cost you between 500 and 800 to get it done plus an *** load of time to figure things out. you will need a 01-03 subframe, undertray, passenger pegs, seats, and tail fairing as well as brake light and turn signals. you can get most if not all of the parts off ebay

 

airtech makes a super tail and a undertail for the 04 f4i that retains the banana seat...the rear is covered under a fixed cowl. i think the tail is around $220 or so, not sure on the undertail.

this is probably the route i will take since i already ordered a high mount exhaust that will only "bolt right on" to a 04+ subframe.

i will post some pics once i have this mod done.....it may be 30 to 45 days though.

I'm doing it a different way from the grafting on of a different sub-frame.

It is a slower process...but is about $700 cheaper.
