Key won't turn!!

I had this happen. It was after I parked at a friends house, and turned the ignition to LOCK. When I went to turn the bike on, the key wouldn't turn. The top part of the ignition was sort of free floating, so it got a little turned so the key wouldn't go in all the way and allow me to get it to the on position.

In my case, I just had to turn the top silver part a little bit to get the key to insert all the way, then it worked fine.

That is exactly what mine is doing. I can sit there and spin the top part around and around, but regardless I cannot get the key to turn either direction when inserted all the way.

just checkin......did you push it down first then turn it clockwise?

spray some wd40 in it.

Did that too. Still nothing. Just about to give up here, and take it to Honda World.

That just sucks. I hope mine doesn't do this again, especially when I am out somewhere!

Next time I take it in for something, I will have them take a look.

All I can think of is work that top part until the key goes in all the way. That worked for me.

Well I can get the key in the all the way, it just wont turn not matter how much I mess with it. So who knows.

tumblers are prolly screwed... which means youll need a new ignition....
